Ronaldsway Airport June 2016

Post by Roadrunner » June 22nd, 2016, 6:07 am

Hi there,
Are there any Ronaldsway regulars on here, or does anyone know of a Manx spotting group. I landed at Ronaldsway on Monday 13th June 2016 at around 13:50 off the BA3284 from LCY and noticed 2 X ATP "stored" together away from hangers. Plus I saw a Beech? aircraft in Irish Air Corps livery near the main terminal as we left by taxi.

While waiting for our return flight (BA3283) at around 10:30 on Monday 20th June in the Departure lounge I could see a few Bizz jets parked outside a hanger, one of which looked to be all grey and looked more like a "military" livery.

If anyone has any ideas on the registrations of the aircraft I mention, or of any spotting group I can ask, I would much appreciate it.

Sorry guys,

After a lot more research I found the North West Aviation web site's Ronaldsway page and it answered all my queries in pictures. The Irish I thought I saw was in fact French! There are 3 ATP's not 2 stored and the all grey bizz jet is a Manx registered machine. LOL

We get the Irish Air Corp here a lot and, for some odd reason, French Xingu's and Transall's. Maybe they like our kippers. :)

The ATP's are West Air, Sweden, which come for maintenance. I assume those outside are being cannibalised.

Thanks Bones.

We come over every year to visit my wife's aging parents. This year as we waited to depart back home on 20th June, I was surprised by the OY-RUG ATR72 on the ramp but did not note what airline it was operating a flight for. Also the fact that 2 other ATR's were present EI-REL and EI-REM both in Flybe livery and the brand new A320SL G-EZPK of Easyjet. More interesting all round than at other times over recent years.

The DAT ATR's are operated by Stobart Air so I assume it will have flown one of the Aer Lingus routes. Flybe use Aer Arran ATR's just to confuse matters. :)
