ICAO Aircraft codes

Postby Roadrunner » October 31st, 2015, 5:52 pm

A few months ago a list was published of changes to the above list. In this list were 2 relating to Gulfstream aircraft - GA5C which was listed as aircraft type Gulfstream 550, and GA6C listed as Gulfstream 650. Are these officially in use? I ask because I changed my database to use these cods but I continue to see new aircraft of these types either shown as GLF5 or GLF6, or on some sites as G550 and G650. What is correct please.

Hi Mike

The two new codes you refer to are for the new versions of the G500 anf G600, that are also called the Gulfstream 7. If you look at the ICAO website it refers to them as G7s, Gulfstream G500 (G-7) & G-7 Gulfstream G600 . If you look on the FAA website at N500GA it is the prototype GVII-G500. You will also see they have a new range of serial numbers.

Steve,

Thanks for that. I was obviously premature in using the codes. :(
