If you see squawks listed in the Aircraft List for non ADS-B aircraft then there is a Mode S radar in the area. Mode S aircraft only throw out a squawk if hit by an interrogation pulse.

Hi Folks..... just looked at the location map and located myself Tamworth(TGLYN) and also noticed another not far away named "Mr Phil in Keithley near LBA". I guess near Leeds.
Problem though as his label location appears to be very near Nuneaton only about 8 miles SE of me, oppps....

Been checking my airfield maps and I cant find LBA close by me, shame ..LOL.

lucaberta wrote:Hi,

what if I wanted to provide with location data for the ATC radars located in Italy? What format would I need to provide the info in? I do have a bunch of sites already listed in my Google Earth places, so it could be relatively quick for me to put together a KMZ file.

Alas, as far as I know there is no mode S radar in operation at this time in Italy...

Ciao, Luca

Hi Lucaberta,
just send me a list of the radar stations together with their lat/long coordinates by pm.
Thanks
Andy

I've just had a look at the map and there are quite a few incorrect locations - Aberdeen isn't near Evesham nor Fleetwood near Shrewsbury.

There are a few duplicate entries where users have put the wrong Lat/Long in and then corrected it the second time round. Unfortunately this still leaves both on display.

Just had an idea.... (oh dear i hear you all say :D )

Is there a way we could upload our sbsplotter polar diagrams to this?
Maybe colour code them so we can see what areas we could combine our data towards mapmodeS.
Even though its not going to happen we can still have alook!

Thanks

Hi Guys.

Been trying for ages to add myself to the SBS-1 Directory. Still can't see myself. I have tried all sorts and still no good.

Regards Tony

Try N 53.46 W001.33 - assuming you are at Rawmarsh.

There are quite a lot of misplaced locations on the map because users have had trouble getting the co-ords right. At least there aren't so many now in the middle of the oceans.. :)

I have done some housekeeping on the entries and removed about 100 spam lines of data. I may have been a bit drastic in purging and everybody who has registered since July 15, 2009 is invited to check his/her data and reregister if desired.
